1:1 devicesRondout Valley Central School District is now providing wireless computing devices to students in grade 5 through grade 12. The iPad program continues to be the same as last year, in grades 5-10. Students in Grades 11 and 12 will be receiving Chromebooks as their 1:1 device!

For the first time, students in grades 11 and 12 are receiving 1:1 (one-to-one) devices. The device chosen for these grades is a Chromebook. A Chromebook is similar to a laptop with a few differences. On a Chromebook, when the user logs into the device, they are also logged into their Google account. The device uses the Google Chrome web browser for fast internet use and the person has immediate access to their Google drive as long as the device is connected to Wi-Fi. The students in grades 11 and 12 will receive their devices during the second week of school. In preparation for this rollout, HS teachers received Chromebooks this past Spring and were provided training. Further support and training for this initiative will be provided this Autumn and through the school year!
