Grant Information


Current Grant Opportunities from RVEF:

Classroom Grant Fund

Classroom Grants can be applied for by teachers and/or support staff to support innovative programs and/or the purchase of materials and supplies necessary for an optimal classroom learning environment not covered by the current school budget. 
Classroom Grant Fund contributions are received from:
-designated donations via the Foundation’s donation form,
-RVCSD employee payroll deduction pledges,
-and donations through the Staff Tribute program.
Donations, pledges and tributes are designated at the time of donation to one or more of the following school funds: Kerhonkson Elementary, Marbletown Elementary, Intermediate, Junior High, High School and District-wide. Each School Fund is available for teachers and/or support staff of that school to apply for classroom 
mini-grants of up to $500 provided that sufficient funds have accumulated in the school's fund.

Foundation Grant Fund

Foundation Grants
can be applied for by
 students, education providers and/or others* that fulfill RVEF’s mission to enhance educational opportunities for the children of the Rondout Valley Central Schools in partnership with the larger community. 

There is a $2000 limit for grants awarded through the Foundation Grant Fund. Applications for grants that are $500.00 or less are accepted and awards are announced throughout the current school year.
Applications for grants over $500.00 up to $2000.00 are accepted from February 1 through April 30 of the current school year for projects planned for the following school year.
Grants awarded are announced prior to the end of the current school year in June, and funding will be distributed prior to the start of the school year in September or at a time mutually agreed upon between the recipient and the RVEF. * If not a RVCSD employee, be prepared to give a brief presentation of your   project/program to the RVEF Board of Directors.

‚ÄčThe protocol and application information for a grant from the Foundation Grant Fund are available to download via the links on left.
Applicants must 
follow the established grant protocol, application and report procedures for this fund. (Education providers and others must comply with District requirements for interaction with students.) Grant applications are reviewed by the Foundation Grant Committee. The committee then presents their recommendations to the Board of Directors for approval before awards are announced.

Donations to the Foundation Grant Fund are accepted at any time throughout the school year. 

Pre-K Literacy Grant:
The Foundation Grant Fund has designated funding that is available for Pre-K Literacy grants throughout the year. Pre-K Literacy Grants can be applied for using the Foundation Grant Protocol and Application form available to download via the links on the left.

STEM Grant:
The Foundation Grant Fund has designated funding that is available for grant applications related to the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. STEM Grants can be applied for using the Foundation Grant  Protocol and Application form available to download via the links on left.

Science Research Program Fund

Science Research Program Grant (SRP Grant):
Funding is available through the Science Research Program Fund for students in the Science Research Program to assist with their research projects. The SRP Grant Protocol, the SRP Grant Application (FORM A) and SRP Final Grant Report (FORM B) are available to download via the links on the left. The application and final report are reviewed by the Foundation Grant Committee and awards are made prior to the end of the school year. Students should contact the RVEF with any questions prior to submitting their application and are encouraged to plan ahead for the financial needs of their projects.
