What we do:

  • We partner with school related groups to collect, manage and disburse funds for school related educational activities and projects
  • We offer grants. Students, teachers and education providers can apply for funding in the form of grants for educational purposes not covered by the regular school budget. We review grant requests, according to protocol, as they are received.
  • RVEF grants that have been awarded include:
    • Supplemental field trip funding
    • KES after school literacy project
    • Rhinebeck Performing Arts performance of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow for 7th & 8th grade students
    • Little Ones Library for a Nature Presentation,
    • Stone Ridge Nursery School for a listening Center,
    • Carol Brown's third grade classroom at Marbletown Elementary for a portable PA system,
    • Barbara Davenport's Seventh grade classroom at the Junior High School for a Diversity program.
    • The Intermediate School’s Fireboat John J. Harvey Museum Project
    • Science Research Grants for students in the program.
    • Shopbot CNC Router for JHS technology department
    • Cajun Connection performance and classroom discussion by Cedric Watson
    • HS Mural Beautification Project with Eugene Stetz
    • Classroom books for KES first graders
  • We accept tax deductible donations that can be designated to one or more of the specific educational program, project or group funds; or to the Foundation’s general operating fund.
  • We can apply for alternative funding through educational grant opportunities that are not available for public schools to apply for.
  • We collaborated with the Rondout Valley Business Association to develop the Leadership Institute at the High School.

 What the RVEF needs:

  • Active members to increase and diversify their Board of Directors.
  • The services of an experienced Executive Director.

Education Foundations can be very powerful tools for Districts as they strive to maintain a high standard of excellence for the education, well being and safety of their students.

The RVEF meetings are open to the public. Our meetings are scheduled for the first Thursday of each month from 7:00 - 8:30 PM in the Conference Room at Rondout Valley School's District Office, 122 Kyserike Road, Accord NY 12404.   (Check our home page for for unscheduled changes)
