Recently, Governor Cuomo implemented the New York State Cluster Action Initiative that designates certain geographic areas in the State – “Yellow, Orange or Red Zones” based on certain “target metrics” that were developed by the State. As more areas in the State become designated as yellow zones, we are beginning to prepare for the possibility of being in a yellow zone in the future. Please note, there are no schools in the Rondout Valley Central School District that are currently in a designated zone.

Over Thanksgiving Recess we received notice that a staff member tested positive for COVID-19 and yesterday we learned of another staff member testing positive at Marbletown Elementary School. After contact tracing it was determined that three classrooms and several staff would need to quarantine. Out of an abundance of caution the Rondout Valley School District will transition to fully remote for both students and staff starting Monday November 30th until Friday December 4th.

Governor Extends Date for Mail-In Ballots

Governor Cuomo has issued Executive Order 202.39 that states any absentee ballot received by mail in the office of the District Clerk, or designee of the trustees or school board, by June 16, 2020 at 5:00 pm shall be canvassed and counted for the budget vote and election held on June 9, 2020. No absentee ballots shall be accepted after 5:00 pm on June 9, 2020, except those absentee ballots received by mail.
