Community Share Day LogoCalling all performing Artists/Makers, Musicians, Performers, Playwrights, Woodworkers, Metalsmiths, Chefs or any other creative professional!

Dear Members of the Rondout Valley Junior High School Community,

This fall the Junior High School is hosting our third career day for the arts on Friday, October 19, 2018 from
8:00-11:30 AM. Community Share Day is an event where parents and community members who utilize the arts in their professional lives share their work, skills, knowledge, and experiences with our students. The goal for this event is to provide opportunities for students to imagine possibilities for themselves, assist them in making good choices, and foster the development of motivation and persistence needed to be successful.

The day will begin with a keynote performance at 8 a.m., followed by small groups (10-15) of students moving from one presenter to another throughout the remainder of the morning. Our school will be transformed into multiple studios with a variety of artistic offerings. Each presenter is responsible for 5 short presentations,
approximately 25 minutes each. Presenters are asked to bring props, tools, materials, models, or examples to make the program as “hands-on” and interactive as possible.

If you or someone you know are interested and available on October 19, 2018, please consider sharing your work, skills, knowledge and/or experience with our students. Please contact Sara Bogart or Julianna McCarthy for more information at:
