Four seats on the Board of Education (BOE) are up for election this year–i.e., those currently held by Elissa Jury, Christopher DePew, and Dawn Van Kleeck, as well as the remainder of an unexpired term created by the resignation of Breanna Casey.

One candidate has filed a petition to have her name placed on the ballot in this year’s Board of Education election, to be held on May 17, 2022. The four vacancies will be filled by the individuals with the most votes, including write-in votes (i.e., where the voter writes in the name(s) of the person(s) for whom the voter desires to vote).

The three candidates receiving the most votes will each serve a three (3) year term commencing July 1, 2022 and expiring on June 30, 2025. The candidate receiving the fourth-highest number of votes will serve the remaining balance of the unexpired term that commenced on July 1, 2020 and expires on June 30, 2023. The successful candidate for this unexpired term will be eligible to take office immediately upon being elected and duly qualified.

The following statement has been provided by the candidate whose name will be on the ballot and is printed verbatim.
