Rondout Valley High School’s valedictorian, Dahlia Rosen, and salutatorian, Matthew Nusbaum, both received a surprise knock on their front doors this morning when Principal Torok found a way to deliver good news to two deserving seniors. Principal Torok said, “The announcement of valedictorian and salutatorian is an incredible honor and academic achievement. It’s one of those once in a lifetime experiences that students remember forever and picking up the phone or video calling these students just wasn’t good enough." Without hesitation, Principal Torok got in her car to personally deliver the news. “For me it wasn’t about the yard sign, but about the moment of seeing their surprised faces and celebrating the news at their homes and with their proud families.”
