Board of Education Goals
Goal: To provide a safe, engaging learning environment that promotes progress towards academic achievement and excellence.
Objectives/Action Steps
The RVCSD Board of Education will:

review and approve a multiple year plan for updating the district’s Math & ELA curriculum (including writing) which involves all stakeholders in the process.

review and monitor data on an annual basis with the goal of seeing an increase in state test scores, grades 3-12, to be at or above the County average for the number of students scoring in the proficient range.

review and approve a plan to deliver professional development specifically for the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) throughout the District.
Goal: The district will create and sustain collaborative partnerships that foster academic excellence, learning opportunities for all students and a positive culture in our schools and community.
Objectives/Action Steps
The RVCSD Board of Education will:

review and approve a process that brings all stakeholders together to review and discuss data, develop and review improvement/action plans that are vertically aligned and provide continuity and consistency in all schools. (To be implemented in the 24-25 School Year)

review the district’s plan to establish and maintain relationships with post-secondary institutions and colleges, to better prepare our students to be successful upon graduation.
Goal: Through transparent operations and best practices, the Board of Education will maintain sound fiscal stewardship of financial resources consistent with Board policies.
Objectives/Action Steps
The RVCSD Board of Education will:

hold public committee meetings throughout the budget development process.

disseminate a budget newsletter to all stakeholders.

collect feedback from all stakeholder groups through a survey and a public hearing.

Keep tax increases at or under the tax cap, while not cutting services.
Goal: To ensure that all school buildings and grounds are safe and secure learning environments.
Objectives/ Action Steps
The RVCSD Board of Education will:
- Ensure best practices are employed throughout the district by adopting a district wide safety plan that includes prevention, detection, and training.
- Develop a new capital project plan.
- Ensure the concession stand is up and running by the Spring of 2024
Goal: To develop an ongoing policy review cycle that seeks to align policy and practice and well as applicable state and federal laws.
Objectives/ Action Steps
The RVCSD Board of Education will:
- review and update its policies in a timely manner.
