Thank you to the Rondout Valley community members who participated in today’s school budget vote and school board election. The 2025-2026 proposed school budget passed with a vote of 1360 to 472.

The Board of Education of the Rondout Valley Central School District will hold two public hearings on April 22, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the District Office.

The Rondout Valley Central School District Board of Education proudly announces the 15th annual Thomas King Distinguished Service Award. This award is aimed to identify and acknowledge the outstanding contributions put forth by our staff and establish a tradition of excellence.

Petitions nominating candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education of the Rondout Valley Central School District will be available online and at the District Office, Kyserike Road, Accord, beginning on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

The Rondout Valley Central School District Board of Education appointed Thomas Tryon as the District’s new Director of Facilities during a meeting on February 11. Tryon officially assumed his position on March 3. 

There is nothing more important to us than ensuring the safety and well being of our students and staff. The District has implemented a multi-prong Comprehensive Safety Plan that includes School Resource Officers, security guards, tools for online-safety, and improvements to the physical security of all school buildings to prevent unauthorized access, as well as focusing on providing mental health support and creating a culture of community and belonging within our buildings. 

The Rondout Valley Central School District (RVCSD) Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Tabatha Biggane to a newly created position: assistant superintendent for business services. She was appointed during a meeting on October 8 and officially assumed her post on November 18.  

The Rondout Valley Board of Education is proposing a Capital Project that focuses on security, safety, and the arts, with the goal of enhancing student programs and creating a secure learning environment throughout the District.

Request for proposal for armed security guards for Rondout Valley Central School District

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Section 466-a of the Real Property Tax Law, the Board of Education of the Rondout Valley Central School District will hold a public hearing on November 20, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at 122 Kyserike Road, Accord, New York 12404.

The New York State Education Department is considering a change in regulations that deal with Mixed Competition and the Athletic Placement Process in terms of how boys and girls sports are organized.  The changes could come into effect as early as September of 2024.
