Board of Education Goals

Academic Growth and Success

Successfully manage and oversee the Superintendent of Schools Search during the 2017-2018 academic year with a final candidate selected by April 11, 2018

Increase educational opportunities for all students (at-risk, gifted and talented, etc.) attending the Rondout Valley Central School District by sustaining, improving and expanding academic, extra-curricular and athletic programs.

Monitor the implementation of the District reading initiative, and evaluate data that will inform next steps. The Superintendent of Schools will provide reports to the Board of Education at the October 10, 2017, January 23, 2018 and May 8, 2018 meeting.

The District will focus on identifying strategies and safety nets to improve student attendance.

Increase student success by identifying ways the District can improve health, wellness, and safety for all stakeholders in the district, with input from the District wide safety committee, wellness committee, and administration.

The Board of Education will continue to build positive relationships with the entire Rondout Valley community of learners by:

Exploring and implementing measures to improve two-way communications
Clearly articulating a communication protocol
Increasing and monitoring digital communication

Stewardship of Resources

Develop a sustainable budget that supports the priorities and goals of the District and meets the needs of both our students and community.

Engage the Board of Education Facilities committee to identify safety and infrastructure needs and to develop a Capital Project Plan to meet current and future priorities.
