Update from PPS Regarding Special Ed & Related Services
Posted on 03/25/2020
update from ppsDear Parents/Guardians:

As we move through these unprecedented times, I hope this finds you all well.  I know that there are many questions and concerns as we all try to figure this out together. As you know we are currently on “spring break” and will be resuming instruction on April 1st. At that time, you can expect to hear from your child’s special education teacher and/or service providers. As per the state guidance, we will be providing services in accordance with FAPE, through distance learning. For many this will include, use of videos, emails, consultations, and available support to parents. Much of this will differ depending on student needs, grade levels, etc.

I encourage you to read the latest Supplemental Fact Sheet (linked here) that was recently issued by the US Department of Education. If you have any additional questions or concerns, I ask that you contact the CSE Chairperson for your child’s grade level, or building. We will continue to work together and respond to the regularly changing situations, challenges, and guidance.
