Continuation of Remote Only Instruction

letter from the superintendent

Dear Rondout Valley School District Community:

Over the holiday break we have continued to see a rise in the transmission of COVID-19 in both the community and among our students and staff. Although our schools are closed for the break there is a high degree of community acquired transmission at this time, which experts tell us will be exacerbated from gatherings taking place at this time of year.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Rondout Valley Central School District will continue remote only instruction January 4th through January 15th. The District will resume hybrid instruction beginning on January 19th after the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.

I apologize in advance for the burden this will place on our families. Our priority is to return to in-person learning and taking this proactive approach will allow us to do it safely after the holidays.

Joseph Morgan, Superintendent
