Scholarship Awards Process

In February, all students with a GPA of 90 or better receive an announcement in the mail inviting them to apply for an RVSF scholarship. However, any RVHS graduating senior may apply.

Included in the application is the request for an essay, a completed Activity Sheet, and three teacher recommendations.

This is a competitive application process, not all applicants will receive a scholarship.

The RVSF Application Committee will review applications to determine semi-finalists. Each semi-finalist will then be interviewed by the RVSF Board on a given date in April.

At the end of the interview day the committee determines the recipient of each scholarship. Generally, only one scholarship is awarded per selected student. All scholarship decisions of the RVSF Board are final.

The selections are kept in confidence by the Board until announced at Senior Awards Ceremony in June.

Scholarship checks will be issued directly to the student the following November, upon knowledge of good progress in college.
