Rondout Valley Central District Expands Free Meal Service to All Students Due to Increased State Funding
The Rondout Valley Central School District (RVCSD) is excited to announce that it will now provide breakfast and lunch at no cost to all students in all schools. This is made possible through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) designation granted to Rondout Valley by the New York State Education Department, and will be effective at the start of the 2023-2024 school year.
The CEP includes one breakfast meal and one lunch meal for every student. Additional meals may be purchased at the following prices: breakfast at all schools, $1.75; lunch at elementary schools, $2.75; lunch at intermediate, junior high, and high schools, $3.25.
RVCSD Superintendent Dr. Joseph Morgan stressed the importance of this funding. “This program ensures that all children can receive the benefits of a nutritious meal every day,” he said. “Studies have shown that school meals are critical to students' well-being and readiness to learn, and we are thrilled to offer this to Rondout Valley students.”
Please help the district by completing the household income form below. This helps the district obtain funding for educational and extracurricular programs. It will also help us to identify students who are eligible for free or reduced fees for programs such as camps, testing, college applications and reduced tuition, just to name a few.
