UPK Lottery Information
Thank you for your interest in the district’s Universal Pre-K (UPK) Program.
When the number of applications exceeds the number of available seats, the district conducts a lottery to ensure a fair and transparent process for all families.
The lottery determines the order in which families will be invited to choose their program placement.
The drawing will be livestreamed on Zoom so families and community members may observe the process. This year the lottery will take place on Tuesday, May 12 at 4:00 PM. The link will be available on our website prior to the lottery.
What Your Lottery Number Means
Your child’s lottery number determines the order in which families are contacted to choose a UPK placement.
Families will be contacted in lottery number order and will have the opportunity to choose their preferred program location from the seats still available at that time.
If all available seats are filled before your number is reached, your child will be placed on the UPK waitlist in lottery order.
After the Lottery
Following the lottery drawing:

Families will receive mailed notification with their child’s lottery number.
- The district will begin contacting families in lottery order to select program placements.

The lottery is conducted using a digital randomizer and is livestreamed on Zoom to ensure a transparent and equitable process for all families.
