Superintendent
Paul M. Spadaro, Ph.D.
February 2025
As we reach the halfway point of the school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the progress we've made together and reaffirm the goals that continue to drive our work. Your partnership and support have been instrumental in helping us advance in the areas that matter most to our District and, more importantly, to our students.
First, our commitment to Safety remains unwavering. There is nothing more important to us than ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff. The District has implemented a multipronged Comprehensive Safety Plan that includes School Resource Officers, security guards, tools for online safety, and improvements to the physical security of all school buildings to prevent unauthorized access. The plan also focuses on providing mental health support and creating a culture of community and belonging within our buildings. As part of the ongoing efforts to provide a secure and supportive learning environment, the District also implemented GoGuardian Beacon, an advanced content filtering and safety monitoring system for student-issued Chromebooks.
In terms of Academic Excellence, we are proud of the strides our students have made. Impressively, Grade 3 students at Marbletown Elementary School and Kerhonkson Elementary School combined have the top scores in the County on last spring’s English Language Arts State Assessments. In addition, we tied for second in the County on the Math State Assessment.
Finally, our commitment to being Fiscally Responsible remains central to our decision-making process. Every decision we have made this school year ties directly to planning for the 2025-2026 budget. As we prepare for the next fiscal year, we are carefully evaluating our resources, and our goal is to develop a budget that is both responsible and responsive to the needs of our students, staff, and community. In the coming months, we will be engaging with stakeholders to provide updates as we finalize our financial plans for the year ahead.
As we look ahead to the remainder of the school year, I remain confident in our collective ability to continue building on the progress we’ve made. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our school community. Together, we will continue to provide an exceptional educational experience for all of our students.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our schools. I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and look forward to celebrating our shared successes throughout the year.
