Harlem Wizards Bring Magic and Community Spirit to Rondout Valley

In an unforgettable display of district-wide unity, our PTAs and PTSAs joined forces to host the Harlem Wizards for a sold-out night of laughter, trick shots, and family fun.

It was a spectacular show filled with shenanigans, trick shots, and showmanship on January 11 when the Harlem Wizards basketball team played the teachers and staff from the Rondout Valley Central School District (RVCSD). This sold-out show was a huge fundraiser for the PTSA, bringing in over $10,000. The crowd of more than 500 students, families, and friends was wowed throughout the event.

Students who purchased Courtside tickets were able to participate in a pre-game meet-and-greet with players. Students who bought the Wiz Kid jersey were invited to help the team warm up and took part in activities on the court during halftime and between quarters.

The RVCSD teachers and staff showed up in full force and played their best in a game that definitely was not your typical basketball. At one point a baseball game took place on the court, there was also some line dancing, and even a dramatic door dash delivery. The crowd loved it!

Gratitude goes out to the many volunteers who helped make everything run smoothly. A huge thank you also goes out to all the students and their families who attended, purchased raffle tickets, concessions, and merchandise. We appreciate the PTSA for bringing such a fun and interactive fundraiser to our community!
