This event is the culmination of a three year course for Grade 12 students in the Science Research program. This year’s keynote speaker was Heather Kase, an eastern New York commercial horticulture progress specialist with Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Hudson Valley Research Lab. 

At the event, students Ruby Powell, Jeffrey Ulrich, and Borny Patwoary, delivered their Senior Research Presentations. After a brief intermission where attendees were able to view the posters of all participating science research students and enjoy refreshments, Grade 11 students, Penelope Rousa- Dunphy and River Bauer, presented on the research they are conducting.

Topics ranged from Paleocenography, Arctic Chlorophyll, and Paleoart to microplastics in the Hudson River and the environmental risk of veterinary flea and tick medicine. From developing research questions and conducting investigations to analyzing data and drawing conclusions, these students demonstrated the critical thinking, perseverance, and scientific skills that define true researchers. Their presentations highlighted not only their knowledge and expertise, but also the countless hours of hard work invested throughout the program.
