Junior High School Inducts Students into National Junior Honor Society

Scholarship, service, character, citizenship, and leadership are the pillars of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). On March 26, Rondout Valley Junior High School’s chapter of this prestigious organization inducted 40 students exemplifying these qualities.

During a formal, inspiring ceremony, Assistant Principal Stephen Protoss led the traditional candle-lighting ritual, symbolizing the core values of the Honor Society. The inductees then took the NJHS pledge, affirming their dedication to academic excellence, community service, and personal integrity. Each student received a certificate of membership, marking their achievement and commitment.

Protoss shared introductions of the inductees, highlighting their future goals and hobbies. From ambitious career goals such as marine biologist, crime scene investigator, doctor, actor, and professional lacrosse player, the students demonstrated their passion for growth and leadership.
